Michaella Sloane Counselling
Counselling Services
As a registered counsellor, I am trained to support people through a wide range of emotional, psychological, and relational challenges. This can include experiences like anxiety, grief and loss, stress, trauma, self-esteem issues, life changes, and relationship difficulties. Counsellors provide a safe and confidential space to explore what’s going on in your life, build self-understanding, and develop coping strategies that support mental and emotional wellbeing.
While both registered counsellors and psychologists offer therapeutic support, counsellors often focus more on present-day concerns and practical approaches to wellbeing. Psychologists have additional training in diagnostic assessment and may work with more complex mental health conditions that involve diagnosis and clinical treatment. Working with a registered counsellor means receiving care grounded in empathy, coping skills, and a strong focus on the therapeutic relationship.
I offer counselling services in the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town and online across South Africa.

Students & Young Adults
Figuring out who you are and where you’re going can feel exciting but also overwhelming. Whether you're dealing with stress, anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship struggles, or just feeling lost or stuck, I offer a space to talk things through without judgment.
This is a space for you to slow down, make sense of what you're feeling, and learn tools to cope while also exploring what really matters to you. You don’t have to have it all figured out. We’ll go at your pace, in a way that fits your personality, goals, and life stage.
Adults
Life can sometimes feel demanding and full of responsibilities, changes, and experiences that leave a lasting impact. You might be carrying unresolved pain, feeling overwhelmed, feel disconnected, or simply stuck. Counselling offers a space to reflect and reconnect with yourself.
Whether you're working through grief, trauma, ongoing stress, or emotional regulation I offer support that’s compassionate and respectful. Together, we can explore what’s weighing on you, strengthen your coping tools, and move toward the kind of life you want to live.
Employee Assistance Programmes
I offer short-term solution focused counselling sessions as part of EAP, supporting employees with stress, burnout, interpersonal difficulties, grief, and other life challenges. These sessions aim to provide a confidential, non-judgemental space to explore concerns, identify practical coping strategies, and promote emotional well-being in a way that supports both individual functioning and workplace performance. Sessions are tailored to the time-limited nature of EAP support while remaining person-centred and collaborative.
EAP services are available in collaboration with your company and require referral or agreement through your employer.
Online Counselling
Online counselling can offer the same depth and care as in-person counselling with added flexibility and comfort. It can be especially helpful if you have a busy schedule, live in a remote area, have difficulties arranging transport, or simply prefer the ease of connecting from your own home.
I provide easy access through secure video platforms. All you need is a quiet space, a reliable internet connection, and a device with a camera.
On a personal note, I do also love it when your pets make an appearance during the call.
In-Person Counselling
In-person counselling allows for the natural flow of communication both verbally and non-verbally in a space designed to support your wellbeing. For many, being physically present in a dedicated space can help you feel more grounded and safe as you share. It can be a quiet space away from everyday distractions as well as offering a clear boundary between counselling and daily life. Depending on your preferences, you might find it easier to open up in a neutral and private space.
